Vlissingen
Vlissingen is a lively harbour town filled with maritime history, cosy terraces and beautiful views over the Westerschelde estuary. Stroll along the longest boulevard in the Netherlands, where impressive ships pass close to the shore, and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere by the sea.
Relax on a terrace near the harbour, explore the natural recreation area of Nollebos or visit some of the city’s well-known attractions. Highlights include the historic Keizersbolwerk, the interactive Zeeuws maritiem muZEEum and the family attraction park Het Arsenaal.
Vlissingen is also closely linked to the famous Dutch naval hero Michiel de Ruyter, who was born here. His statue proudly overlooks the water from the boulevard.
From Breskens, Vlissingen is easy to reach via the Westerschelde Ferry, a bicycle and passenger ferry connecting both coastal towns. A fun and relaxing way to discover Zeeland from the water.
