Museum Cultuurforum Aardenburg

In Aardenburg, one of the oldest towns in Zeeland, you will find the province’s newest museum: Museum Aardenburg. Here, the whole family can step back in time and discover the fascinating Roman history of the region in an interactive way.

Did you know that a real Roman castellum stood here nearly 2,000 years ago? Excavations in Aardenburg uncovered remains of this fort as well as many remarkable Roman artefacts. In the museum, you will learn how these objects were used in everyday Roman life, including in kitchens and bathhouses.

Learning through play is at the heart of the experience. Visitors can even try authentic Roman games and experience what life was like during Roman times.

Right next to the museum stands the impressive Sint-Baafskerk, the oldest church in Zeeland. Through a unique VR presentation, you can travel back in time and explore the rich history of this remarkable building.

A surprising and educational day out where history truly comes to life.
