Breskens
Breskens has a high number of sunshine hours per year. Not surprisingly, the biggest attraction of the seaside resort is its 4-kilometer-long sandy beach. Stroll along the beach and past the octagonal lighthouse, take a look at the carvings of emeritus pastor and sculptor Omer Gielliet in the Sint Barbara church or visit the Fisheries Museum. Every year in August, Breskens is under the spell of three days of fishing festivals that attract thousands of tourists to the port town. Of course, it is also fun to sample Zeeland delicacies such as fresh oysters, mussels and the Westerschelde lobster.
